Overview
In our endeavour to use ensure no child is left behind, we have started our project which is Sukhashraya Centre for Autism.
Looking at autism optimistically, this centre is envisioned to support parents and neurodiverse children to be included in this society.

Why This Centre?
2021 study in the Indian Journal of Pediatrics estimated that approximately 1 in 68 children in India have autism.
There’s a noticeable increase in the number of children diagnosed with autism in Karnataka. Rough estimates suggest that one in every 61 children in Karnataka may have autism.
Study reveals that majority (70.7%) of children with ASD are not attending mainstream school in spite of the government initiatives and provisions for special needs children as per the Right to Education (RTE) in India.
A vast majority within (95.1%) of them are diagnosed in the age range showing better diagnosis services in Bangalore, Karnataka.
However, only 19.2% of children with ASD received 3 to 4 hours of maximum private therapies every day leaving out 80.8 children, showing the economic disparity in the access to treatment for ASD in Bangalore.
Prevailing Issues
- Due to nature of disability and lack of targeted resources, many families with an ASD child feel isolated
- Mainstream educational environment does not cater to children with ASD
- No special daycare centres for kids with neurodivergence
- Limited number of truly inclusive schools
- Researching about inclusive schools is difficult due to lack of database

Sustainable Service
Subscription Model
We have a monthly or annual subscription system through which our centre can become an alternate learning centre for those children who are unable to assimilate into mainstream schools or do not have access to special education.
We plan to cater to 50 children. 90% of these will pay a very subsidised rate (<95%) for our services and 10% of them will pay the full rate with no subsidies.
This not-for-profit revenue ensures sustainability of the project from the get-go.
Sposor a cnild
The annual cost of sponsoring one child with autism to have access to our centre and our services is approximately INR 60,000.
With this sponsorship you not only fund the learning and well-being for one child with autism, but you also support the program to reach so many more children who need this service.
With larger grants, we will be able to deepen the services we provide each beneficiary to include therapies on top of day care services.
